3 Reasons Why You Should Hire a Social Media Manager

Social media is a huge part of our online presence, so how can it benefit your business?

Social media is an incredibly tricky thing. Trends are changing all time, just as the social platforms you use frequently change. Before you dive headfirst into the world of running a business on social media, take some time to think about hiring a social media manager.

Social media accounts for a business consists of much more than just posting a great picture of your dental or orthodontic business.  You have to be able to dedicate the proper amount of time to your social pages.  Unfortunately, it’s far too easy to forget about keeping your business account active. Social media is time-consuming.  No matter if you’re winding down by browsing Instagram, or staying ahead of the latest Twitter hashtag, if you can’t spend the time on your pages, it’s a good idea to hire someone whose job is dedicated to social media.

Having a marketing plan is great, but remember, it’s going to be slightly different on social media.  Having an ad pop up on a website is completely different from a Facebook post.  The post should go a little more in-depth about your product, whereas an ad mainly tries to grab a potential customer’s attention.

For example, if you’re planning on unveiling a new piece of dental equipment on a certain date, your social media manager will plan posts accordingly.  They’ll do sneak peeks, as well as countdown the days until the unveiling.

A social media manager knows the platform they’re working with inside and out. They know when it’s the best time to post, when trends change, which platform is the best for you, and how to fully engage your audience. A manager knows how to quickly adapt to different strategies, which is important in the fickle world of social media.

While these are only three (very important) reasons to hire a social media manager for your business, also keep in mind that whomever you hire will be your online representative. They’ll be the first impression a lot of people will get about your business, so hire someone who understands the dental industry.
